Richard Legendre began his career as young athlete becoming the Canadian Tennis Junior Champion in 1971. He then continued his career in tennis as a member of the ATP from 1974 to 1979.
Richard studied at the University of Quebec, where he graduated in recreology. Pursuing his dream in sports, he became the Director of the Canadian Open and Tennis Canada, from 1988 to 2001. One of his notable accomplishments was the construction project at Jarry Park, where help fund through public financing and major sponsors.
He was an instrumental part in 2002 with the rescue and re-launching of the Montreal Impact as a non-profit organization. Today, Richard Legendre is the Executive Vice-President of Soccer Operations and Stade Saputo.
